How many cut angles should I use for a 3D model?

**12 is plenty for almost everything.** The visual hull tightens quickly for the first dozen silhouettes and then barely changes — past about 24–36 you're adding real-world cutting time for no visible gain. A near-perfect cylinder is the rare shape that keeps benefiting from more.

Every angle also adds a cut + a rotation to the actual job, so a high count means a long real cut. The tool shows an **estimated cut time** when you generate, so you'll know if you've asked for an hours-long job. Start at 12, look at the result, and only raise it if you can see facets you want gone. (The 3D preview runs its heavy maths in a background worker, so high counts won't freeze the tool.)
