Built specifically for cutting cosplay armour foam (EVA + EPS) at apartment-friendly scale:
- Frame: 2020 extrusion, 250mm tower spacing
- Tabletop, footprint 350×350mm, weighs 4kg
- Motors: NEMA-14 (smaller than 17), 0.8A
- Controller: Elecrow Corgi (the small ESP32 board)
- Wire: 0.2mm Kanthal, very low current — apartment friendly, basically silent
- Foam: EVA sheets stacked + glued into 50mm blocks, or pink XPS offcuts
Cuts costume detailing (rivets, panels, ornate pauldrons) without the floor space of a full machine. About €180 total cost.
Not for wings or anything >150mm. For that I'd build a bigger sister machine.
