Built around an old aluminium printer frame. Bigger Z (tower spacing) for long wings, shorter Y (height) because aerofoils aren't tall.
- Controller: ESP32 + FluidNC, custom YAML
- Motors: NEMA-17, 1.5A, 0.9° step (extra resolution for smooth aerofoil curves)
- Wire: 0.25mm Kanthal, 800mm span — slightly thinner than usual because tip-chord aerofoils have very thin trailing edges
- PSU for wire: salvaged 24V 8A server PSU (overkill, but free)
- Foam: XPS 30 kg/m³ "Roofmate" from a builders' merchant
Cuts a NACA0012 → NACA0009 morph at 12mm/s, very clean. Photo coming when I clean up the workshop.
