Yes, but it's overkill. Depron and similar sheet foams are thin (3-6mm) and easier to cut with a sharp knife and a steel ruler. The hot-wire shines on THICK blocks where knife cutting would be impossible.
If you want to do sheet-foam outlines on the hot-wire anyway: stack 4-6 sheets between two pieces of plywood, drill registration holes through the stack, mount in the cutter, and run the cut once for all sheets simultaneously. Production tip from the model-aircraft community.
