How do I cut a long block in multiple passes?

preguntado por Comunidad · 2026-06-08
If your part is longer than your travel or you want to reposition stock, plan registered passes: cut a section, then move the foam to a repeatable reference (a fence or pins) and continue, so the segments line up. The key is that the foam returns to a known position each time — any shift shows as a step in the surface.

For very long extrusions, keep the wire span and tension consistent between passes. In cncfoam.com you can model the material block and position the cut, which helps you plan where each pass starts. Mark your reference clearly and cut a test to confirm the join is invisible before committing an expensive block.
